Restless and weary rise the seething undead

[XXX] and the [SMF] Alliance wish to bring to the community's attention our Halloween event, Ghostfest 2010. We would like to invite all the players of Guild Wars to celebrate in this year's Halloween and everything ArenaNet and its staff have done for the Guild Wars Community. This event will not only carry-on the traditional prizes and games most player held community events tend to run, but we also hope it will be one of the biggest choreographed consumable spams ever. [XXX] and the [SMF] Alliance plan to hand out over 10,000 consumables including Squash Serums, Vials of Absinthe, Sparklers and Champagne Poppers to the participants of Ghostfest and release them all over Lion's Arch in one frightening ghostly display that the Guild Wars community will not soon forget. On top of it we will be recording the whole event to be posted on YouTube so that even the players who could not make it will be able to see the horror of Ghostfest. Each player participating will recieve a share of the consumables and 1 Transmogrifier Tonic free of charge. We will have random creatures handing out Globs of Ectoplasm as well as several contests where players will have a chance to recieve a Miniature Mad King Thorn or even a Mini Dhuum. The final contest winners will recieve; 1st Place 1 Miniature Dhuum; 2nd Place 1 Set of Fissure of Woe Armor: 3rd Place 1 Pair of Chaos Gloves.

(Join us for a game of Halloween Hangman; as each letter is revealed to you by the host, you must race against the clock and your fellow players to guess a hidden phrase.)

Hide and Go Shriek
(Who will find the hidden Reapers first in this spooky game of Hide and Go Seek.)

(Open a trade window with one of our greased up Hellhounds to win some fabulous prizes.)

FAQ

What is Ghostfest?

Ghostfest is a player-held community event provided by the players for the players.

Will Ghostfest only take place in Lions Arch International District 1?

As of right now yes, if we can get more prizes and donations over the next few weeks we may look at expanding the event to another district. The costume contest will however take place in the next available district.

How can I help to make Ghostfest even better?

We are accepting any donations whether small or large, right now we are focused on trophies that can be turned in during Halloween for consumables.

What if I cannot make it to the event?

We will be recording the entire event including the consumable spam and posting it on YouTube for everyone to experience.

Due to the possibility that a massive amount of GitB could crash the servers we have been asked by the Dev Team to find an alternative idea. As such the event has been changed to Squash Serums, Absinthe and Fireworks. Crashing the server is a bannable offence and I do not wish this on the people participating in such a fun event.

On the plus side, Gaile Gray will be looking forward to attending the event, lets all hope she can make it :P

Too bad :/ well At least we will have a good time. For 3 years I always have missed the halloween events and I wont let anything get in the way of enjoying them

I crashed the EOTN server a few years back with my Snowman Summoning/Tonic antics...good times good times...

Updates have been made to Ghostfest as well as new prizes added. The costume contest will be taking place near the end of the event in the next availible district or possibly a new district all together.

It would be nice, and it would totally be worth seeing all the Dhuums pop up banning people. Plus it would be a great theme to go with the event, but alas we need to be considerate to other people on the server and in the event. Remember the next day is halloween hats so lets try to avoid a banscythe, ok?

*Ghostfest Update*

Added Door Prizes for people coming to Ghostfest. These items will be catered from volunteers to be mentioned later.

There is a strong possibility that LA International District 2 will also be host to Ghostfest if district 1 does fill up. Prizes will be split between the two districts with the exception of Costume Contest Prizes. Unfortunately the spamming of consumables will only take place in district 1.

The Costume Contest will take place in Asia Traditional Chinese District 1 at the time specified above. Please remember to bring your costumes. :P
